“And We created jinn before from scorching fire…” — Surah Al-Hijr (15:27)
Long before Adam A.S. , Earth was not barren.
It was ruled.
It was fought for.
And among the jinn, one being rose above all others—his name: Azazil.
The Great War and the Rise of Azazil
Earth, entrusted to the jinn, had turned to ruin. Many among them had turned corrupt—sorcery, tyranny, and defiancespread. In response, Allah commanded the Mala’ika (angels) to descend and purify the Earth.
But not all the jinn were treacherous.
Azazil, a young commander of the righteous jinn, rose with a burning sense of justice. He led the final war—defeating the corrupt jinn, sealing them in the hidden places of the Earth: islands, deserts, subterranean worlds.
This victory marked a new era. Azazil was named Khalifah of Earth.
Not a Prophet. Not an Angel.
But a chosen custodian—Allah’s vicegerent among the jinn.
With permission from the Most High, Azazil ascended into the heavens.
He was not of them, but he walked among the angels. He sat in their gatherings. He prayed with them in the heavens, while his throne remained upon the Earth.
He became known as:
- Azazil the Obedient
- The Peacock of the Angels
- The Ruler of the Lower Realm
Even the Archangels—Jibril, Mikail, Israfil, and Azrael—were said to have assisted him in that final war, by Allah’s decree. But he was the one entrusted with the Earth.
